The Goddess Bagalamukhi is the striking force stifling all movements and activity. She induces sudden immobility in action. She represents the central point of stillness behind all activity, through which all action is mastered. In the midst of hectic activity one learns to pause and step aside in the recess of repose, in the midst of speech one habituates oneself to hold back and sink in silence, in the midst of pain and suffering one learns to withdraw and glide into the gladness within oneself. Then a person is able to get in touch with his true being, know what the Divine has intended for him and allow the Divine’s Will to act through him.
